Amanaska are Simon Lewis and Stephen Joyce, a new Australian duo whose pioneering fusion of chillout, dance beats and traditional world music has set a new benchmark in the genre. The word Amanaska is a Sanskrit term which refers to the perfect balance of restfulness, alertness and strength that can be achieved during the practising of Yoga. This musical project of the same name explores a similar balance of unusual musical styles of European, Asian and African music over a contemporary base of chillout. This album is an interesting and fresh addition to the World Music scene that will have universal appeal.
