The music is as iconic as that in Vol.1 and formed the theme and background score to the hugely acclaimed TV series The Silk Road, jointly produced by NHK Japan and CCTV China. The two albums together make for a complete musical score of that part of the series based in China. (The later programmes follow the Silk Road west through central Asia). Kitaro is at his best.
